Energeian items were introduced in the The Buried Sea expansion. These items act as regular items with base stats and effects but have the additional ability of changing stats when a power source Orb is equipped. Since different powersources will increase and decrease different stats a player is able to instantly have a small boost of certain stats by equipping the appropriate powersource.

Purity

Purity is an item statistic that exists only on Energeian weapons and armor. When an power source is equipped the purity of the item effects how effective it is in absorbing energy from the powersource and increasing in stats. An item with a higher purity rating will receive more stats from a powersource than an item with a lower purity rating.

For example, when you equip a Translucent Energeian Growth Orb power source an item with 50 purity will increase by 75 hp while an item with 45 purity will only increase by 62 hp.

Typical purity ratings for groupable armor/weapons is 40-50 while raid items have purities ranging around 75.

Power Source

Energeian items have base statistics but to get their full effect you will need to equip a power source. Each power source will add and subtract certain statistics and weapon procs. The power source has a set charge (1,000,000) and drains on a per second basis depending on how much energeian equipment you are wearing. If you are wearing just one piece the drain is only 2(to 4) points/second (139 hours of use@2/sec) while if you are wearing 10 pieces it will be around 25 points/second (11 hours of use).

Power sources are tradeable (at least the Combine versions).

The current level of energy remaining in the power source is shown as a band of color on the right-hand side of the item icon. The band starts off full and green and shrinks, turning yellow then red as the source is depleted.

How To Get

There are a number of ways to get energeian items and power sources across a range of levels:

• Levels 30 to 60 can get tradeskilled energeian items and power sources.
• Levels 60-70 can get them from performing Pirate missions in The Barren Coast and The Buried Sea (zone) which yield Doubloons and faction.
• Levels 70-75 can get them from performing Combine missions in Katta Castrum with yield Orux/Orum and faction.
• Raid level items can be purchased from Katta Castrum with the faction and Phosphene currency obtained by killing TBS raid bosses.
• Raid level power sources can be purchased from Katta Castrum with the faction and Phosphite currency obtained by killing TBS raid trash mobs.
